The Academic Plan, initiated in 2003, defined the University's vision,
goals, and actions for the next five years and articulates the enduring
values of discovery, engagement, resourcefulness, effectiveness, and
community. The Academic Plan is a cornerstone of the new strategic plan,
"The University of New Hampshire in 2020."

VISION: The University of New Hampshire will be distinguished for combining the living and learning environment of a small New England liberal arts college with the breadth, spirit of discovery, and civic commitment of a land-grant research institution.

We will cherish what happens in classrooms, where our students work with our outstanding faculty, and what happens in laboratories, field sites, studios, and libraries as we pursue new knowledge through basic and applied research.
